NAUDL Privacy Statement
The National Association for Urban Debate Leagues (NAUDL) is committed to protecting your privacy and providing debate opportunities to every debater who would like to participate. This Statement of Privacy applies to NAUDL and governs data collection and usage. By using NAUDL’s Web site, you consent to the data practices described in this statement. This Statement of Privacy describes: what data NAUDL collects, who utilizes this data, how it is protected and how to contact NAUDL with questions.
As the national leader of the urban debate movement, NAUDL works with its partner leagues to provide debate programming to urban middle and high school students. Each Urban Debate League is an independent organization, governed by its own board and is solely responsible for its own affairs. Each league is a separate legal entity responsible for its own finances, compliance with local and national laws, as well as programming, personnel, and policy decisions. Each Urban Debate League has the sole authority to create and manage its own staff.

NAUDL urges children to check with their parents before entering information on any Web site and NAUDL urges parents to discuss with their children restrictions regarding the online release of personal information to anyone they don’t know.

Security of your Personal Information
NAUDL utilizes a Salesforce.com relational database to store information related to debaters and alumni. Salesforce.com utilizes some of the most advanced technology for Internet security available today. When User access the Salesforce site using industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology, your information is protected using both server authentication and data encryption, ensuring that your data is safe, secure, and available only to registered Users.
Salesforce.com provides each league and the NAUDL with a unique user name and password that must be entered each time a User logs on. A league only has access to information about debaters and alumni who competed in that league. While NAUDL has access to all debater records it only creates reports and outputs in an aggregated and anonymized form. NAUDL may access individual records to assist leagues with information management request. NAUDL does not store personal information in written form, such as print outs. NAUDL does not email personally identifiable information.
Salesforce.com issues a session “cookie” only to record encrypted authentication information for the duration of a specific session. The session “cookie” does not include either the username or password of the user. Salesforce.com does not use “cookies” to store other confidential user and session information, but instead implements more advanced security methods based on dynamic data and encoded session IDs.
In addition, Salesforce.com is hosted in a secure server environment that uses a firewall and other advanced technology to prevent interference or access from outside intruders.
NAUDL utilizes Bloomerang.com to store and organize information related to donors. Bloomerang.com is committed to ensuring that information is secure. In order to prevent unauthorized access or disclosure Bloomerang.com has put in place suitable physical, electronic and managerial procedures to safeguard and secure the information NAUDL collects online. Access to this database is limited to NAUDL staff members using unique user name and password combinations.
NAUDL selects technology partners for their commitment to maintaining the security of information stored on their servers. NAUDL protects transmission of personal information (such as credit card numbers or dates of birth) to other Web sites by using encryption methods such as the Secure Socket Layer (SSL) protocol. While NAUDL takes a number of precautions to safeguard personal information, no data transfer over the internet can be completely secure so users should transmit data at their own risk.
