June 11, 2025 (oklahoman.com) – As the sports business expands beyond $1.3 trillion, the topics for debate are increasingly thought-provoking and complex. [The National Association for Urban Debate Leagues] provides an unparalleled opportunity for students to pursue sports career opportunities and explore exciting topics with which to “agree to disagree.” As debate and esports are welcomed into the family of high school athletics, this national program debuted in Tulsa and will take its next major step in Oklahoma City within the next eight months. While the program will be rolled out across NAUDL’s 20 national city chapters and 10,000 active debaters (and showcased at the United States Conference of Mayors meeting in Tampa in mid-June), Oklahoma is the “pioneer state” for this effort.
