National Policy Topic on IP Helps to Launch New Partnership

LexisNexis Brings Legal Research Access to 75 High Schools in Network

January 2025 – LexisNexis Legal & Professional, a leading global provider of information and analytics, is thrilled to announce its support of the National Association for Urban Debate Leagues (NAUDL) as part of our ongoing partnership with ADAPT.legal. ADAPT.legal is a nonprofit organization that seeks to make the IP profession accessible to all through educational resources and programs that support current and aspiring IP professionals.

Through NAUDL, approximately 75 public high schools across 20 cities will receive access to legal resources within Lexis+. Through 400 membership seats, more than 1,250 network debaters will benefit, leveling up their preparation for the 2024-25 policy debate topic on Intellectual Property at this year’s tournaments and NAUDL’s Urban Debate National Championship this spring. These efforts support students’ abilities to access legal research materials that substantially level the playing field for students attending schools that do not have the extensive advantages many of their counterparts in better-resourced public and private schools take for granted.

In addition to providing pro bono access, the LexisNexis team will advise and guide student researchers and debate coaches on which materials will best support topic arguments, specifically, “whether IP rights should be stronger or weaker.”

NAUDL is thrilled to launch this incredible partnership and thank LexisNexis and ADAPT.legal for their commitment to enriching the future of the legal field.
