Livestream Virtual Event
Keynote Speaker: Doug Glanville, MLB Veteran and Community Advocate
NAUDL’s marquee event for the last several years has been the Urban Debate National Tournament (UDNC), which welcomes two high school debate pairs from each of NAUDL’s partner leagues to compete and network for three action-packed days. Traditionally, the weekend is kicked-off by NAUDL’s Annual Dinner, our organization’s largest fundraiser. Obviously, in-person events continue to be non-negotiable for the health and safety of our students, coaches and staff, in the coming months. However, it opens an opportunity for NAUDL to shift this flagship event to something centered around community and growth, and not just competition alone. As such, this spring (April 16-18), we will be hosting the first ever NAUDL Debate Expo, combining a round-robin competition with coach and student workshops — as well as virtual engagement events.
The Expo will commence with an “Opening Night” live virtual fundraiser, which will include the Debater of the Year speech, Coach of the Year recognition, guest speakers and a Paddle Raise (feed-the-need).
In 2022, pending a return to “normal” and in-person events, we plan to resume the traditional Annual Dinner and our longstanding National Championship. However, we expect the online EXPO to continue as a separate platform to bring the Urban Debate Network together in a unique way.
Sponsorship Opportunities are available (see next tab). Individual tickets are $35.
